Dr. Clare’s Presentation at the NC Fatherhood Conference 6.18.2022

The Center is excited to highlight the work of Dr. Glenda Clare, our Family Partner Specialist and Trainer. Dr. Clare will be facilitating a workshop at the NC Fatherhood Conference on June 18th entitled The Power of Kinship Fathers. The conference will take place at NC State’s McKimmon Center from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. This workshop encourages and promotes Kinship and Relative Placements for children in foster care. Audience members will hear directly from Grandfathers who are caring for their grandchildren, in addition to learning the resources and supports available and necessary to support Grandfathers who foster. The goal of this workshop is to empower and celebrate men who are doing this work. Her workshop will take place from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Dr. Clare is a former single kinship provider. She raised the daughter of her first cousin after the death of her maternal grandmother. She believes male kinship care by grandfathers, uncles, and siblings is very much needed and advocates for the fact that Fathers Matter!
