Meet Us Monday: Gina Brown
Gina Brown is a role model for how sustaining relationships keeps families connected. She was the primary caregiver for her step granddaughter for over nine years. Gina recognizes the importance of biological and chosen family in the lives of young people. She advocates for access to resources that focus on the well-being of children and young people. Gina wants to make a difference for other families trying to navigate the child welfare system to care for family members.
Gina Brown serves in the role of kinship parent on the Child Welfare Family Advisory Council (CWFAC). Gina became involved with the CWFAC because she recognized the unique challenges kinship parents face when trying to care for their family members. As a member of the CWFAC, Gina also participates on the NC Community Child Protection Team Advisory Board, the KinGap Workgroup, the Workforce Development and Well-Being Design Teams, Fostering Health NC, and Fostering Medication Sub-group. Gina is also a member of the Forsyth County Family Engagement Committee.
