Center Spotlight: Dr. Emily (Lefebvre) Smith

This month we are excited to announce that Dr. Emily (Lefebvre) Smith has transitioned into a new role with the Center as a Postdoctoral Research Scholar! Dr. Smith is a recent graduate of the Lifespan Developmental Psychology program and began working with the Center in June 2017. During her time at the Center her work has focused on assisting in research promoting healthy families and communities in North Carolina and evaluating military and veteran health and well-being within North Carolina and across the nation. As a Postdoctoral Research Scholar with the Center, Dr. Smith will continue to serve as the Project Manager for the Community Child Protection Team Yearly Evaluation and Report project and continue her work with Dr. Sam Cacace conducting research on military and veteran health and well-being.

Dr. Smith’s favorite things about working at the Center are the relationships she’s built with her colleagues and the ongoing opportunities to expand her knowledge and capabilities. In her spare time Dr. Smith loves fitness and being outdoors! Dr. Smith writes “I have been with the Center for several years but I am excited to transition into this new full-time position.” We are so grateful to continue to work with Dr. Smith!
