FFTA 32nd Annual Conference Workshop

Yesterday was a great day for the Center! We had the honor of presenting at the FFTA 32nd Annual Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. Our workshop, “Supporting Children with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in Foster Care” had over 50 people from across the nation. Dr. Kate Norwalk, Dr. Jamie Pearson, and Alicia Light were able to educate and provide resources to foster parents, social workers, and providers who support children and youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities (idd) in the foster care system. We were able to have a deeper conversation about what IDD is, what resources are available and examples of effective communication and parenting strategies to better support children and youth with IDD.
